I hope this isn't an interruption to your day, or your pre-holiday plans, and I'm sorry I didn't reach out sooner. But it's Thanksgiving tomorrow, and I thought I should. I should've earlier. But, thank your help. After the party and what happened. Thank you for helping us, and for making sure it didn't go any worse than it did. For being there and doing what you could to help my sister. I owe you more than I could ever say for that. We all do.
[ Even if she doubted much of anyone realized it. But that wasn't the point. The sheer, bone-bare, painful gratitude was. Even if she was late. Better late than never. ]
I'm glad I could help. I don't know Vanya well but she's a good person. She deserves any help she can get with a power like that. Has she been doing okay? I haven't checked on her since then.
I actually didn't even know it was a holiday. Still getting used to this planet.
I'm not even sure, myself, what holidays are the same on this world, and which ones aren't. I haven't looked into it too hard. I still find myself a little surprised when things do line up to how they were on our Earth back home, because everything else is so completely different here.
There are small handfuls of things that are the same, but a lot of it is things our world doesn't have. Like the technology for these devices. Or the base on the Moon. Etc.
This whole time, I had half a mind that we're just really far away from home. Hadn't really believed the talk of different dimensions, but it's the only thing that makes sense, I guess.
My family is going to do something very small. There's only two of us who have celebrated this day a few times since we were young, so it's not really a focal point for most of the rest of our family.
Do you ever celebrate the new days you find here?
It's definitely made me wonder about what holidays people come with that we don't hear about so often either.
I try to. Every holiday is new to me, honestly, so it's not like I'm changing things up. And I like experiencing new things, anyway. Making new traditions and all that.
I do know that where I'm from there's something called Life Day but I couldn't tell you what it's about.
Making the effort to learn new traditions is exhausting but rewarding. I'd love to know more about what everyone celebrates.

You're from a different Earth? I've heard that's common around here.

Did you have these same holidays back home, too?

We do. Though not everyone celebrates them. I didn't when I was young.

I think I'd like to, too.
