[ Finn puts his hand on Poe's shoulder tilting him his way so he can see better. His hands don't run over Poe's bare torso, mostly from knowing that he can't do that, but he still pokes at a few of the bruises along his side to make sure nothing's broken. The burns aren't good, but Finn can't help those right now.
Yet, he looks almost satisfied. Almost. His eyes flick back up. ] And your head?
I know. [ He'd been there for some of it, but at least he'd been there.
He gently prods around the wound, making sure the bleeding's stopped, and looks down again to check on Poe's eyes. If he used his powers, the pain to him would be minimal and it'd clear up in just a few hours. It's just smarter to use it.
It hurts a hell of a lot worse not to. ] We can get something on those burns when we get home, okay? And stop saying you're fine. The more you say it, the less it sounds like the truth.
[ Whether he believes Poe or not is left to interpretation. He doesn't. ]
[ Finn's hand settled on Poe's shoulder, sadness and fear finally showing through his eyes. ] I'm glad you're back. [ It was said already but it deserved saying again in person, softly like it betrayed all those long hours Finn spent planetside. ]
[ Having the Death Star literally hanging over their heads tended to do that, Finn thought. He felt like he had to mobilize, like the war was finally here just as he always thought it would be.
But he sighs instead. ] The weapon's offline, Akobi ported out- Even Ronan's... okay. Mostly okay... There's nothing else to do but wait.
[ And then grimaces. ] It's driving me crazy.
[ His hand doesn't move, though. Literally touching Poe just reaffirmed that he was here right now. ]
[ His voice was low, rough, and quiet. He just leaned a little more into Finn's hand until finally he was leaning over enough to rest his head on Finn's shoulder. ]
I just can't help the feeling that this is all going to get a lot worse.
[ Finn deflated, leaning back so he could still take Poe's weight with an arm around his friend. He wasn't really thinking about their closeness, though. Everything else was on his mind.
Eventually, after a quiet moment to think: ] How? The weapon can't fire. Or... do you mean whatever brought it here?
Yeah... [ He sighs and rubs his own hand over his face. ]
It is getting worse. Unless the OTO has their own porter that they can control, I don't think it's anyone's fault. Just... the way things are here. Like how we arrived. If it keeps getting worse, then... we'll deal with it.
It isn't how things are, here, though. We never had this kind of thing before... I know you're kind of used to it, because it's been happening since a little after you got here, but before Jeopardy? Nothing came in without the Porter.
[ ... That changes things. Finn knew Jeopardy showed up more or less shortly before he arrived. Since no one was panicking, he-... Well, that was an error in judgment.
His shoulders slump, leaning more into Poe. ]
This is bad, then... Maybe the problem is Jeopardy. What if it didn't come from the Porters? What if it was put here by someone to bring other things in?
Not your fault. You're stuck here with the rest of us.
[ And none of them had any idea. ] We'll just... keep an eye on things. Stay reactionary until we can get more information... At least we know Jeopardy wasn't an isolated incident? That's good. [ Sure it was. ]
[ Earth wasn't that bad, really. Not as bad as home. The only problem was how everyone came and went. If he could stay, have all of his loved ones stay (or at least have the choice), that would be ideal. ]
[ He went quiet, a lot of feelings that he couldn't do much about all at war with each other in his chest. He let out a long breath, closing his eyes as the exhaustion came to the forefront. ]
... Yeah.
[ He managed to murmur, before the exhaustion was just way too much and suddenly he was already drifting off, slumped over onto Finn's shoulder. ]

[ He reaches up, pulling the hair back, and indeed: there seems to be a long but superficial cut into his scalp. ]
I'm fine, Finn. I promise. I've been through a hell of a lot worse than this.

Yeah. Okay. Fine was probably an exaggeration.
He sighed. ]
... Yeah, more just trying to convince myself, really. [ Muttered lowly. ] But I'm not hurt is what I mean.

Yeah. Me too. Just wish I felt better about... Well. All of this. Everything about it just feels wrong.

The Death Star, the weird animals that were popping up, Jeopardy... I have no idea what the hell is going on and it just seems to be getting worse.
