[ Finn had resolutetly not worried. Once he realized what was going on, there was a lot of panic and a lot of... busy work. Every time it came into his mind, he pushed it away, a familiar practice he'd learned a long time ago. There was no reason to worry in just 24 hours and nothing he could do so-
Except he had worried and the exhale of relief on his end felt near holy. He didn't let Poe hear that part, though. ]
It's fine, Poe. Real glad you're back.
You need a pickup?
[ If the Porter took Poe, then he may know more about home or his powers might have changed. That's what Finn understood so far and this was his very subtle way of asking about one of those. ]
[ ... No BB-8. That-... Finn lowered his comm before raising it again and standing. ]
On my way.
[ He was getting better at distances, but the teleporting didn't seem to work further than a mile from his original point. So while it took him a couple of hops, Poe was probably waiting for all of thirty seconds before Finn appeared. ] Hey.
[ He should have expected it, but he didn't. It's hard to remember when someone just newly got teleportation powers, alright? So when Finn appeared suddenly right beside him, Poe nearly jumped out of his skin. ]
Fucking--!
[ He put a hand over his chest. ] Force, trying to give me a heart attack?
[ Poe jumping made Finn jump, his adrenaline spike suddenly turning from defensive to giggly. His hand clapped against Poe's bicep to hold them both steady. ]
Sorry. I'm sorry, Poe. [ His other hand pinched the bridge of his nose while he came back down to himself. Sobering up, he looked around at their feet, doing a small sweep of the area to confirm what he already knew.
He sighed, figuring this was his first taste of how fickle the porter could be. Dammit, he was legitimately going to miss that droid. ] I'm sorry about this, too...
[ Poe couldn't help it, the giggles pulling a small smile to his lips as he watched Finn, willing his own heart rate to decrease. As Finn sobered, though, it disappeared, and he let in a breath and nodded, head ducking to look at his feet like they were interesting. ]
[ Finn wanted to say some sort of words of sympathy or comfort. Try to... relate or something. But there was nothing he could say that would bring their friend back. ]
Want to head home?
... Or we could go somewhere and get some caf? Walk around town a little? Whatever you want.
[ Finn shrugged, probably not being as nonchalant as he'd like. He wanted to offer something to do that wasn't sitting back at Base One and thinking. Plus, well, he'd been worried. ]
[ No, there was nothing he wanted to do other than not leave Poe's side right now. The hand on his bicep moved to his elbow and Finn steered them away from the Porter. ]
I like to walk, and it's a good day for it. Maybe we can find something else to blow up along the way.

I'm at the Nonah Porter station.
[ There was a pause, and the swallow was audible. ]
... No need for anything with extra space.
It's just me.

[ He didn't really feel like bamfing anywhere, at the moment, but he didn't feel like rushing either. ]
Unless there's something you wanted to do. I just--
[ He let out a breath. ]
I just want to blow the hell out of the Porter, but that's a no go.

Don't think anything we could possibly find would be anywhere near as satisfying.
...but yeah, we can walk.
I'm sorry, by the way. I know what a shock it is to have someone just completely disappear on you.

Not like it's your fault. [
pot, meet kettle] Doesn't matter, though. Just... glad you came back.no subject
Yeah.
I'm glad you came back, too.
[ His fingers tightened, and for the briefest second the compulsion to just start spilling everything gripped his chest.
But instead his fingers untensed and he released Finn's sleeve, hand slipping away. ]
Come on. Let's go home.
