PSL with Maul
[ Finn had heard the stories for nearly as long as he could remember. So long, in fact, that it seemed like they were just that. Stories. But he learned pretty quickly that stories have some truth to them, even if it's just a kernel. The Jedi were just stories for most of the galaxy, after all. And as Finn spent more time around the Force, around people who knew better, this particular story came back to mind.
And now, with the war as over as it was going to be for the time being, he suddenly had an opportunity. Poe had gone to help re-focus the New Republic. Rey had begun training her first group of younglings. All of his friends had something to do, and he was invited to all of it, especially where Poe and Rey were concerned. One could argue that he even should be with them, at least be with one of them, but he had to do this.
Why did he have to? Unsure. Maybe just to do something for himself for once. If this even was for himself. Unsure of that, too.
Either way, the old legend, some digging, and a few bribes here and there have led him to some planet only barely not within the Outer Rim. The town he found himself in was... clean, even if the signs of a hard life were abundant. A fishing town on the banks of a wide river and forested mountains crawling around the landscape. Not remote but certainly packed the illusion of being so. The place was too busy to really be considered remote.
Still not willing to run the risk of being recognized, Finn walked from the docks with a hood over his head, growing more and more sure he was in... the right place? Something was here. Whether or not it was what (or who) he was looking for, that was up in the air. But there was a pull in the Force that lead him into the town itself and through winding streets. He walked with purpose, like he knew exactly where to go, like he'd been here a million times before.
Until, eventually, he grew close to the source and suddenly became cautious. His steps slowed and his instincts had him slip against the wall, walking forward softly in an attempt to be invisible, but... that was hardly going to work if the legend was true. If this other person had the Force, too. If they were as trained as the stories claimed.
... Maybe this wasn't a good idea. ]

Kenobi had managed to bring out a bit of good in the Dathomirian but Maul was Dathomirian; he was Mother Talzin's son, he was a Nightbrother. He was never going to be good in the eyes of the old ways. He simply was, and that was all there was to it. This war that had just ended was like the war that took the last life he had ever cared about: it wasn't his. And for the most part he wasn't interested.
But every now and then someone would become interested in him. To learn, sometimes. To battle more often. Needless to say it never quite went in the favor of the challenger. And every now and then Maul would be struck with violent desire. Take for instance the person he had just killed. Well, people. Can't have witnesses. Listen, he's still not perfect and he never will be. If they were acquainted with this sad excuse for a man they deserved it just as much.
Finn would easily be able to hear the hum of a lightsaber before it quietly deactivated and returned to his side as nothing more than a cane for an old man. His voice, warm and deep like burning embers but not malicious. Though it could be if you played your cards the wrong way. ]
You fool no one with your silent footfalls, young Finn. [ Yes, just because he was not a part of this war doesn't mean he wasn't up to date with the news. Maul turned. Golden eyes burned through the darkened ally but no longer were they bloodshot. The Force served him, now. He had found his balance. Precarious as it could sometimes be. ]

This... was not a good idea.
But the other man knows he's here now, and no amount of feigned stealth is going to help him out if this turns poorly, so Finn steps out of the shadows. ]
How do you know my name?
[ The First Order knew his name, though they didn't like to admit it, preferring his designation above anything else. Bounty hunters knew his name, too. It's not that uncommon of a trend. But this man doesn't appear to be surprised by his presence.
Maybe this is what a Master in the Force is like. ]

I ruled an entire planet once and then a syndicate afterward. Do you really think I don't keep up on politics? [ You should probably walk with him. Those bodies wont go unnoticed for long. Not that walking with him was going to make any situation any better he was something of a very recognizable figure when he did decide to come out and play. ] Besides, your friends are hard to miss. Curious they aren't with you now, though. On holiday, are you?

So, knowing better, he follows a couple of paces behind after one last look at the bodies. Hoo boy. ]
You could say that.
[ This news about a planet and a syndicate are unexpected, too, though. Does this guy stay as deep underground as possible or does Finn need to find new sources for intel? ]
Looking for you, actually. And you don't seem very surprised to see me.
[ At this rate, Finn's about 20% sure this is going to end with a lightsaber through his chest. It's not the most optimal way for this to go, but he can't say it'll be shocking
whenif it happens. ]
