History:

Xim History, a very brief summary:

  • Finn was in-game for eight missions, from Ghost Girl to Wish Full.

  • The orb from the first mission gave him the ability to sense other orbs and where the orbs have previously been.

  • He grew stronger with the Force and built his own lightsaber.

  • Itachi gave him a birthday that's on the "official" birthday calendar, December 18th.

  • Jim became his boyfriend, who he planned to go home with.

  • He learned to be far less self-sacrificial and has been trying to take actual care of himself and his mental health.

Personality:
+// loyal: Finn's loyalty to the people he cares about runs deeper than is probably healthy or wise. That said, he would do absolutely anything to help his friends (who is usually someone he met like five seconds ago). Growing up in a warzone like he was, he's quick to run into the line of fire for people or even just something he deeply believes in. He also won't be easily swayed away from a friendship, not by a long shot. Sure, he gets frustrated with them sometimes, they fight and argue if it comes to that, but he'll always call his best friends just that even if he's grumbling about it. In the end, Finn would give quite literally anything for the right cause or the right people.

+// curious: Growing up in the First Order, Finn didn't get to know the galaxy the way many others might. He didn't get to enjoy music or try different foods or take up new hobbies or even strike many (read: any) friendships. Now that he's away from the First Order, he's become deeply curious about everything and is eager to soak up as much information as possible. At the same time, this lends him a bit of innocence or even some naivety. This could give others the wrong impression of him when the things he's seen make him anything but. Still, he's finally getting the chance to enjoy life, and he takes that job extremely seriously. So the next time he derails a mission because his team happened to walk by a "free samples" cart, don't blame him.

+// brave: Finn's been in some terrible positions before, and he was scared of them almost every single time. Eventually, there came a point in his life where he had to make a move even if he was terrified to do it. Ever since then, he's done what has needed to be done. He was still just as scared, but it's never stopped him again. Having friends by his side and way too much experience dealing with frantic situations has helped his confidence in these matters, but it doesn't change how he feels most of the time. Still, he's the first to volunteer in dangerous situations, the first to take point, and sometimes the first to get injured. For him, it's worth it.

-// anxious: Even though he's really good at keeping a clear head, Finn still gets struck with panic, especially when things are semi-calm. As soon as something stops going according to plan, he gets annoyed and short with people in his team, visualizes the many different ways everything's going to horribly wrong. The problem is, he's right about half of the time, since things go off the rails so often. But the point is that Finn worries. He doesn't like not being in control of a situation and he definitely doesn't like being kept in the dark. Usually, he combats this anxiety by taking matters into his own hands, which sometimes has a tendency to backfire. It's still better than doing nothing and constantly fretting about it. Still, when his anxiety starts kicking in, he's quick to anger. His friends usually just ignore him when he gets like that, though. Doesn't mean he's not a little bit of a control freak because of it.

-// paranoid: When trying to take control of these anxiety-inducing situations, Finn's first plan is to try considering every possible scenario. Every. Single. One. For the most part, this is actually a good trait to have. It usually means he's prepared for every situation, not easy to catch surprised or unawares. At the same time, he kind of goes overboard with it. Finn tries to keep a weapon near him at all times, tries to keep his past guarded, tries to observe all of his surroundings all of the time. In this regard, he can be slow to give trust. And this is when he's not overloading on anxiety. When he's anxious, he prepares for every worst-case scenario he can conjure up when the answer could be something as simple as just talking. Still, it's not easy for Finn to stop this habit of assuming the worst. It's saved his life on occasion, after all.

-// low self-worth: Finn's childhood was spent but not being a child or even a person. He was barely a soldier and more just a tool for the Order to do what they will. He's learned a lot since then, has gotten a name and decided he deserved better than what they had put him through, that he didn't deserve any of it. When these sorts of things are brought into question or mocked, Finn will fiercely protect his rights to existence as an individual with the same human rights that everyone else has. And yet, growing up the way he had, some ideas are hard to kill. He still feels expendable, feels lesser and sometimes undeserving of the better parts of life. All he's known was war, after all, no matter how badly he wants change. Yes, he looks after his health and well-being, doesn't have much in the way of self-loathing, but he still doesn't feel like he quite measures up to someone who grew up with a name and a family and a direction in life that doesn't call for violence.

Powers/Abilities:
:// the force: The Force is quite literally the life force that touches everything. It's good and bad, chaos and joy. You probably know the spiel. Binds us, surrounds us, penetrates us, etc. There are individuals out there who are Force-sensitive, meaning that they can see and sometimes even manipulate the Force for their own use. This can range from larger amounts of empathy to knowing something before it happens to even floating rocks with your mind.

Finn is one of these Force-sensitive individuals. In canon, he hasn't shown the ability to, well, float rocks or use any telekinetic abilities. But he can see the Force quite clearly and his connections to other people. He knows when something's wrong and he often knows how to fix it, even if it's this weirdly specific task that he couldn't possibly have known about beforehand. He could probably even communicate telepathically, too. All that said, he has the ability to learn how to use the Force in a telekinetic compacity and will probably do so in-game if emotions are high enough and the occasion calls for it.

:// combat: Less a power and more of a noteworthy ability. Finn's been highly trained in combat since childhood. Hand-to-hand, short range weaponry, long range weaponry, etc. He's particularly skilled with a blaster firearm. His connection to the Force likely heightens these abilities.

new:// orb sense: Thanks to absorbing the orb during the Ximilia's first mission, he can sense when other orbs are nearby and where they've previously been. Whether or not he still has this ability upon returning to the station is entirely up to the mod team!

Regret:
As an indoctrinated child, Finn believed in the Order, at first. This lead to him questioning if some of the things he was doing was actually wrong, and he realized this error after it was too late to save lives. This, he can forgive himself for and blame on the First Order. It's after that he began to grow wise of what the First Order was really doing that bothers him. His inaction costed the lives of good people. While he didn't stay in this limbo long and has strived to make amends, his biggest regret is not saving those lives in the first place.

(But that probably would have costed his own life and there wouldn't have been a sequel trilogy and the First Order would have destroyed the galaxy but STILL)

tldr; inaction that lead to deaths

Suitability:
I personally think Finn was a good asset to the team during his last run. Aside from being able to sense the orbs themselves, he's also a good combatant. His ability with the Force has proven useful a few times with sensing those around him and using his telekinetic powers. He's also learned some medicine and how to heal with the Force, and has helped to even mend bones while on the station. While his diplomatic skills leave much to be desired, he's also a good leader and definitely a good shoulder for most to lean on. He's an understanding individual that works hard to build bridges with those that may try to distance themselves from the rest of the group for one reason or another. He'll probably still be a bit mopey when he arrives, but he's a team player and always strives to complete a mission with everyone coming back safe.
